Do You Bend Or Risk Breaking?

Do You Bend Or Risk Breaking?

This photo reminds me of the idea of being fluid, like water.

After all, that’s what Bruce Lee said.

Why question him?

Or, have you ever heard the saying, “If you don’t bend, you will break?”

Sometimes, not bending is our response to life.

We are often defending something deep within.

Maybe we are defending our fears, or our doubts, or our insecurities.

The question is, are you bending to life reactively? Or responsibly?

When we are a child, we react the only way we know how. And sometimes we don’t outgrow that child.

If Martin Luther King was “flexible” and “like water,” I wonder what our world would be like.

If Rosa Parks “adapted” to her situation, I wonder what our world would be like.

I wonder what is possible for you if you responded responsibly. Powerfully. Maybe you already do.

But be warned.

If you choose not to bend, you risk breaking.
